Shibari teacher and performer
My name is Juliette (pronouns her/her) and I started shibari in 2016. First tied, my desire to tie appears quickly as the need to transcribe the sensations and emotions felt in the ropes. Shibari is now my main professional activity both as a teacher and a performer.
I had the chance to follow the teachings of many shibari teachers who each helped me discover various visions and techniques of strings.
Close to contact dance and aikido, I place the body at the center of my thoughts as a vector of transmissions.
From these experiences, I deploy a practice of shibari based on improvisation, continuous movement, built chaos but also, before, the questioning around what happens between two individuals in this encounter between intimacy, body and ropes.
